Ben Friedman

Ben Friedman studied Film and Video at Central St Martin's as well as gaining a BA (Hons) in Communications Studies from the University of Leeds. In 2004, Ben joined Miramax Films in London and 18 months later joined the newly formed Weinstein Company where he became Vice-President of Acquisitions and head of the London office.


During his time at TWC, Ben oversaw all European acquisitions covering all the major European and North American based film festivals and markets. He had substantial involvement in the acquisitions and co-productions of films such as Control (dir: Anton Corbijn) Boy A (dir: John Crowley) and more recently, The King's Speech (dir: Tom Hooper) which were acquired for both domestic and international distribution.


Since 2010, Ben has worked as a freelance consultant for several smaller European and US based distributors as well as consulting for independent producers. In early 2011, Ben boarded Last Passenger (dir: Omid Nooshin) as Associate Producer, bringing together key financing.


Ben also runs the Fishtank Festival, an annual multi-disciplinary arts and music festival in London.
